Robert Řehák

Robert Řehák is Ambassador at Large, Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues, Interfaith Dialogue and Freedom of Religion, Chair of the International Religious Freedom or Belief Alliance (IRFBA) – The Article 18 Alliance, and Head of the Czech Delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA). He is also a published scholar and an official Hebrew interpreter.

He studied at Charles University in Prague (Ph.D.), Ruprecht-Karls-Universität in Heidelberg, and the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. He has served as President of the Society of Christians and Jews in the Czech Republic and as a diplomat at the Czech Embassies in Israel and in Washington, D.C.

In recent years, he has worked with young people and lectured in the United States, Europe, and the Middle East. As a researcher, he has participated in several international research projects in the fields of freedom of religion, interfaith dialogue, and sociology of religion, and has organized several international conferences, including the International Religious Freedom or Belief Alliance Ministerial Conference on Freedom of Religion or Belief under Authoritarian Regimes (2023).

He is proficient in Czech, English, Hebrew, German, and Russian, and reads classical Latin, Greek, and Arabic.
